Hello! ..and Welcome to the Miss Moss Florals Blog.
I’m Mel, owner and Operator of Miss Moss Florals,
situated on a sunny corner in Weston Creek, Canberra.
So why a blog?
Well, we have been open now for four years. Hard to
believe and the time has whisked past us in a flurry of seasons and special
occasions.
As well as being one of the biggest and brightest retail
florists on the Southside of our glorious Capital, we also create special
orders, deliver blooms all across the Canberra region, whip up some magic for
the occasional event, and sell truckloads of indoor plants and pots weekly.
The shop is always filled with a wide range of giftware,
from propagation stations to natural bath products, pots, plant stands, cards,
candles and handmade chocolate.
The focus has always been on local or Australian made,
sustainably sourced and fair trade.
Phew! We may have just learnt something over that four
years and I thought it might be time to share some of that.
I decided a blog might be a way to connect to our
customers, regular, new and future, on a more personal level.
It’s exciting There’s so much to talk about! There is
never a dull moment in a Florist Shop.
I hope you’ll tune
in for some tips and tricks from the
back room of the flower shop. Information on how to care for that terrarium or
what to do with that flowering orchid you recently received for your birthday,
with a smattering of tutorials on floral design and caring for cut flowers.
Hopefully it will be useful, entertaining and informative
and I won’t be just writing to myself.. although that could be therapeutic!
